The life of an Artist Manager

At one point in my life I thought being an artist manager was about being behind a desk filing paper work, making calls, stressing in a cubicle. However, as I’ve come to Full Sail University I’ve noticed, that doesn’t have to be the case. Many different artists share their own style of doing things within the industry. Their personal styles allow their success stories to shine along with their managers.

I am a coach, I am an advisor, I am a healer, and I try to provide as well.
I would want to do everything in my power to make sure my artist is successful. Who wouldn’t want that? Making sure that my artist and I both are getting paid correctly is the prize from hard work. Are royalties being delivered on time from distributors, are there any remaining residuals? These are a few questions of many that would surround me in the life and times of my artist. I would enjoy the stress of deadlines when it comes down to something that I love versus something that I do not. Wouldn’t’ we all?

I am a traveler, I’ll say that much first, and with that being said I don’t enjoy being stuck doing the same thing. Under a normal day I’d wake up in my apartment, take a shower, put on my clothes, fix something to eat and start my day. My day in the life of a manager will be all the more exciting, waking up in a hotel in Japan, ordering some Tsukemen ramen noodles, contacting the concert area to make sure all the details are ready and listed. All of these things will be a full turn to what I want in life. Dreams will come true for me, and this is only the beginning, stay tuned.

  1. Fantastic post! Your enthusiasm shines bright like a distant star in the night. The incredible thing about chasing a dream, is having the positive mind and fiery passion behind it. We shouldn't have to picture office cubicles, desks littered with family photos of our cats, or 9 to 5 jobs with nothing to look forward to but Jeopardy at 8. We are on this extraordinary journey to find the very career that makes us happy, and allows us to truly make a difference. Royalties are one tough system, but having the knowledge and organization skills to categorize these monetary rewards, will allow you to prevail. Deadlines will have you pulling out hair you never knew existed. But again, having deadlines to projects that spark your interests will not jam a turning valve. I can relate to you completely. I'm not one to settle on a regular schedule, it gets pretty boring fast. I need excitement, adventure, and a challenge along the way. Your vision of your managing position puts rockets on my work boots. That life sounds like a paradise so magnificent, that you can reach as long as you continue to extend that arm each day. Your dreams will come true, and your hard work will prove that. Don't let anyone deter you from your path of greatness. The best part about life is, you have the power to do anything-and only you can do something about it. I'll be waiting for you at the Hotel in Japan with fresh baked cookies from Italy and backstage concert tickets.
