Beyonce and The Super Bowl

Everyone loves a good game, but what happens when you see a pop icon command the eyes of millions watching TV and in the area? Beyoncé performed ‘Formation’ and new Single that came out before Valentines Day. Between the dancing, lights, and indistinguishable voice, Beyoncé made a controversial movement in America.

Formation video starts in New Orleans, Louisiana and reflects on many different culture views of African Americans and the black lives matter movement. In her lyrics she mentions that she has hot sauce in her bag. Beyoncé has always been known to be an activist for both African American rights and woman’s rights. On social media Beyoncé acknowledged the death of a young man by the name of Trayvon Martin who was killed with nothing in his hand but an ice tea and some skittles.  At the super bowl, Beyoncé wore a leather top with an ammo vest embroidered over it. Her background dancers reflected with Afros and leather body outfits symbolizing the Black Panther movement.

Beyoncé is definitely an entertainer and she uses that platform to create awareness in a lot of way especially at the super bowl. This is another landmark on Beyoncé’s road to change. Some praise this movement as a way to push the way for African American equality in today’s society. Others saw this attempt as a pure sign of racism not generalizing her idea and culture point. On Feb. 16 Protestors will boycott the NFL in an attempt to permanently ban Beyoncé or “anti- Beyoncé” from the super bowl.

What about you? What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you agree or disagree that this performance was a controversial one? Or do you think it was just simply as entertaining as it was a movement? Post your thoughts in the comments below.

Experts and Business Plan Views

Carl Schramm and Andrea Cockerton are two iconoclasts I chose to do my post on. “Carl J. Schramm is an internationally recognized leader in entrepreneurship, innovation and economic growth, Schramm comes to Syracuse following a decade as president of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. (Schramm, 2016)” Schramm helped manifest the Kauffman Foundation pioneering in growth and innovation. Some of Schramm’s personal achievements include earning a doctorate in labor economics and industrial relations from the University of Wisconsin. Also, Schramm holds a law degree from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College in economics.

Andrea Cockerton is a business expert and advisor who work with other small businesses. “She believes that the executing of the business goal and the opportunities to grow a business are important so requiring the funding in the time a business may need it is crucial (eventmpr.blogspot.com, 2013). “

One of the most common things students may lack in a business plan is the elevator pitch and money. What can captivate someone is how you delivery. “If it’s not delivery … it’s Digiorno.” Your elevator pitch is the door opener to your plan. If the first few lines can’t captivate someone why should it matter to them? You have to think broader. A good investor knows, “They [Business Plan writer] are very widely read, and know lots of facts and information that makes thinking richer. (Buhroe, 2012)” Investors like to see that your business is already doing well starting off and having them invest into it will create a higher return. I want to deliver; I want my plan to deliver results. That’s what I will bring to the table, that’s what I want to take with me. I want investors to stay interested with not only my analysis of the plan but stay interested with why my plan is an amazing choice to choose.
